DELTA

 

Ognuno di noi ha un legame con un luogo nel mondo, un posto in cui ci si sente accolti e si può dare spazio a ciò che siamo.

Il progetto Delta nasce nell’Ottobre del 2023 quando ho deciso di esplorare le pinete che circondano Ravenna, luoghi a me cari fin da bambina. Dal primo viaggio, dalle storie che mi sono state raccontate e dagli incontri fatti nasce il mio progetto fotografico, una serie di immagini scattate tra la zona umida del Delta del Po vicino a Ravenna e quella di Argenta nella Penisola di Boscoforte.

Qui ho scoperto un ecosistema di acqua, terra, sabbia, arbusti e animali coerente e stabile, dal carattere accogliente e deciso, silenziosamente vitale. Un passo dopo l’altro, lentamente, mi sono addentrata e ho iniziato a seguire prima la natura, poi i cavalli che qui vivono in condizione di totale libertà. 

Sono rimasta affascinata dalla loro presenza importante, ma leggera, partecipe, ma indipendente; li ho incominciati ad osservare da vicino e mi sono lasciata osservare da loro, mi sono fatta annusare dall’alba di giornate luminose fino a tramonti di tempesta.

Con le mie fotografie ho scoperto il racconto di me stessa attraverso la relazione diretta con la natura e con quell'animale così reale, ma anche metaforico, che è il cavallo.

Ho camminato ai margini della macchia per poi entrare con loro nel fitto della vegetazione e tornare negli spazi aperti che costeggiano le zone lagunari; li ho fotografati e si sono lasciati fotografare, siamo diventati lo specchio uno dell’altro.

Le mie immagini parlano di profonda interconnessione tra la natura e l’animale, di abitudini e ritmi reciproci, narrano l’essenza di un legame che persiste nel tempo.

E intimamente, man mano che il progetto fotografico Delta va avanti, io mi trasformo con l’ambiente, lasciando emergere nuove forme di immagini. 

Ho imparato che non c'è necessità di sapere tutto in anticipo, basta conttare il cuore e rimanere aperti con curiosità.

Each of us has an intimate connection with a place in the world, a safe space where you can be yourself and discover new sides of you. 

The Delta project was born in October 2023 when I decided to explore the pine forests surrounding Ravenna, places dear to me since childhood. From the first journey, the stories I was told, and the encounters I had, my photographic project emerged—a series of images taken between the wetland area of the Po Delta near Ravenna and that of Argenta on the Boscoforte Peninsula.

Here, I discovered a coherent and stable ecosystem of water, land, sand, shrubs, and animals, with a welcoming and determined character, silently vital. Step by step, slowly, I ventured in and began to follow first the nature, then the horses that live here in total freedom.

I was fascinated by their presence—important yet light, participative yet independent. I started observing them closely and let them observe me, allowing them to sniff me from the dawn of bright days to their stormy sunsets.

With my photographs, I discovered the story of myself through the direct relationship with nature and the horse, an animal so real yet also metaphorical.

I walked along the edges of the scrub, then entered the dense vegetation with them and returned to the open spaces bordering the lagoon areas; I photographed them and they let themselves be photographed, we became reflections of each other.

My images speak of deep interconnectedness between nature and the animal, of reciprocal habits and rhythms, narrating the essence of a bond that persists over time.

And intimately, as the Delta photographic project progresses, I transform with the environment, allowing new forms of images to emerge.

What I’ve learned is that there's no need to know everything in advance, I just have to open my eyes, walk with curiosity, and let myself be drawn to 'the place' that intrigue me.
