Delta

 

Delta nasce nel 2023 quando mi sono avvicinata a Boscoforte perchè volevo scoprire la comunità di cavalli selvaggi che qui vive da 30 anni, stare con loro e provare a costruire un legame selvatico, senza regole, senza parole, solo gesti, camminate e lunghe soste. Fotografarli.

La penisola di Boscoforte è un lembo di terra sorto più di duemila anni fa, 6,5 km di lunghezza e una superficie quasi di 250 ettari nella parte sud delle valli di Comacchio; un ecosistema naturale preservato dalla cura dell’uomo, dove specie vegetali e animali assai rare trovano il loro habitat per riprodursi. E’ in questa zona che un gruppo di imprenditori locali ha portato dei cavalli bianchi dalla Camargue, quelli che oggi sono diventati Camargue naturalizzati Delta.

In questo luogo ho ritrovato Dante e la Divina Commedia, l’

“Amor, ch’a nullo amato amar perdona,

mi prese del costui piacer sì forte,

che, come vedi, ancor non m’abbandona.”

Quella sensazione di essere avvolta da un amore grande che ti costringe ad abbandonarti all’amare. 

Mi sono sentita in un luogo che è difficile raccontare a parole:

“Nel ciel che più de la sua luce prende

fu’ io, e vidi cose che ridire

né sa né può chi di là sù discende,                    

perch’appressando sé al suo disire

nostro intelletto si profonda tanto,

che dietro la memoria non può ire.”

Delta è una preziosa testimonianza fotografica su un luogo unico dove l’uomo ha saputo fare un passo indietro e lasciare che la natura prendesse il suo spazio, è uno spettacolo di bellezza e resilienza.

My project delta starts in 2023 when I wanted to meet the wild horses that has lived here for 30 years, to be with them, to build a wild bond, without rules, without words, only gestures, walks and long pauses. To photograph them.

The Boscoforte peninsula is a strip of land that emerged more than two thousand years ago, 6.5 km long and covering almost 250 hectares in the southern part of the Comacchio valleys; a natural ecosystem preserved by human care, where very rare plants and animal species find their habitat to reproduce.

It's in this area that a group of local entrepreneurs brought white horses from the Camargue, which have now become naturalized Camargue Delta horses.

In this place I have found Dante and the Divine Comedy, the

'Love, which absolves no loved one from loving, took me so strongly with delight of him, that, as thou seest, it doth not yet desert me.'

That feeling of being loved and to love in return.

I experienced what Dante says in the first verses of Paradise:

'Into the heaven that most receives of His light was I, and things I saw which none descending from up there knows how or can relate, because, approaching its desire, our intellect so deeply sinks, that memory cannot follow.'

Delta is a precious photographic evidence of a magnificent place where man has been able to step back and let nature take its space, it is a spectacle of beauty and resilience.
